The Diabetes Foundation training topics provide you with all of the basic information you need to manage type 1 diabetes after diagnosis. It is meant to supplement, not replace the information you received in the hospital at diagnosis. The training topics give you refreshers on your the basics of diabetes, your supplies, how to test blood sugar and how to draw up syringes. It also gives you and overview of insulin pumps if you are unfamiliar with them. This section has a robust topic on managing highs an lows, which is great information for any person managing type 1 diabetes. The focus of this topic is to share with you the lessons learned of other people who have gone high or low so you won’t make the same mistakes.
